AMD-ATI form DAAMIT
August 2006AMD CEO Hector Ruiz say, the joining of ATI with AMD, this company will change it's name become DAAMIT. "We wish this company remain to be recognized with AMD - ATI, but non meaning its name become AMDATI." Our marketing team fined the DAAMIT name as new name of company, and DAAMIT name meaning it's the company focus to future," said Hector.
Hector explains that DAAMIT name is a word from Inca tribe. The meaning is nippy foot and quickly. Hector say, "Company with the quick movement, like that's we wish to." Delegation from company Intel relates to the new naming of AMD-ATI say," We esteem this naming represent the advancing step of AMD-ATI. We impatient to see what they will do."
When asking are AMDATi will continue their focus to games market, Hector says, “Exactly, if consumers think of games, we wish they think of DAAMIT!" The issue saying that DAAMIT will make full integrated computer and will not compatible with third party hardware bring the court threat from Apple because of patent right collision.
